OS: Vista
Processor: AMD Athlon 7550 Dual-Core 2.50 GHz Ram: 3.00 GB Type: 64-bit OS I am having multiple problems with my PC. First it randomly freezes, or goes really slow. The Internet Explorer usually doesn't respond when I open it, and it won't let me bring up task manager. I have to turn off manually and turn back on and it usually goes fine. It is better when i installed direct x SDK, but still many problems. I have all updates for my display driver, but a message appeared saying my nvidia dispaly helper stopped. Is that important at all??? My mouse and keyboard also take a couploe of minutes to respond coming out of sleep mode. I have no idea how to fix that at all. The last thing is that I have over 20 failed windows updates, most security and service pack 2. The error code is 8070643, i have tried by making a new folder for the updates, and labeling the old one as .old, but there aren't any new updates. rawta,
I think the best help going for malware problems can be found at these two sites; http://www.techsupportforum.com/ http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/ A quick Google of 2 HJT entries, O1 - Hosts: ::1 localhost O13 - Gopher Prefix Seem to indicate malware but I am no expert and you can get expert help from one of the 2 sites above. Please join and ask your questions there. Dan |

Some suggestions:
1. Run MalwareBytes, Super Antispyware, and HitmanPro. 2. Go to HouseCall (http://housecall.trendmicro.com/)and run it. (It will take quite a long time, probably a couple hours.) 3. Once you are sure that the system is clean (all above programs come up empty or negative), then uninstall McAffee and install either Avira, Avast, or MSE. 4. If you haven't already done so, install WinPatrol Free.

rawta, presently we do not provide help with HiJackThis logs.
From what I read of the log file, it seems like some important system files are missing. Had you run a scan with any security software, and deleted files it found? At this point, I would suggest the same as danjmilos. Please register in any of the two sites he mentioned, and post your problem there. There, experts will read the HJT log, and advise you as appropriate. Please read their forum rules though, because different forums have different rules about posting of HJT logs.

Try Vista System File Checker which repairs or replaces missing and corrupt OS files:
1. Click Start » All Programs » Accessories. 2. Right click Command Prompt. 3. Select Run as Administrator . 4. At the command prompt type: sfc /scannow (don’t miss the space before the /) 5. Click OK. Have you run Windows Disk Defragmenter or a 3rd party defragger? Click Start » All Programs » Accessories » System Tools » Disk Defragmenter If that doesn't work you should check your RAM: http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windo...agnostic-tool/ |
