Default Finding mac address on Window 7

Hello, I am using a laptop PC with windows 7, I need a MAC address to be able to logon remotely and work from home but when I go through the usual process of finding a mac address it just comes up with a load of zero's. I asked my IT department who says it's difficult to find the address on window 7, I was wondering if anyone else has found this and can help out?

Thanks

Try this:

Also, some software firewalls will display this in their GUI. The latest PC Tools beta is one of them ("Networks" - "Adapters").

Hi, thanks for reply. Problem is I have done this but my physical address comes up with a load of zero's with one letter at the end, to me this does not look right, or maybe it is????

You're probably looking at the wrong part of the ipconfig output.
Scroll to the beginning then :-

If you are connecting via cable look for the physical address listed under the heading "Ethernet adapter local area connection"

If it's wireless look under the heading "Wireless LAN adapter wireless network connection"
