I have an unusual problem with an old Packard Bell PC see specs below. ![]() Packard Bell (NEC) I Media 4606 1 Gb CPU (Intel Celeron) 256 RAM OS Windows XP (SP2 I think) Incidentally there is no recovery disc & I don't know if system restore was working correctly at the time this glitch came to light. The main problem is this, system start-up is OK (if a bit slow) but when the log-on screen appears there are no user log-on icons, not even an admin log-on icon. Has anyone experienced a similar problem before & if so did they find a solution? By the way I have re-started in last know stable mode etc. Any help from the talented forum members on this site would be greatly appreciated! Ich. |

Thanks for the response Deya,
Problem solved, I restarted in safe & managed to access the OS. I went straight to user acc control & enabled admin account & restarted sys restore which had been disabled. My Papa is now a happy chap & the Grandchildren are now banned from his PC. ![]() |
