cleanclover, its good that things are fine. But, the question is, how did your hosts file get changed? Two days before, everything was working properly, but suddenly, your host file gets changed, and you start to have problems. As tushR says, I would look into what caused the issue.

Did you recently install any software, or made any changes anywhere? Are you using any software, which makes changes to the hosts file?

I don't know Anupam how my host file got changed. I did not have antispyware before so i have installed it now. Is windows defender better than superantispyware?
My windows passed the windows genuine advantage test so i think no problems with my operating system. Automatic updating is on.
I am not the only one who use my computer so will have to consult with others if they installed anything malicious. Specially games which come from pirated cd's. Maybe a malware was the cause of the change of the host file.

Thank you Anupam and all for the help. Hopefully the security i have is enough to protect me in future.

Since you are not the only one who use the computer... maybe someone did a practical joke on you by putting entries in the hosts file, for Google?

MalwareBytes Antimalware(MBAM) is really good for antispyware/antimalware detection and removal. Superantispyware(SAS) is good too. Windows Defender is no good.
Please note that MBAM and SAS do not provide real-time protection. But they are excellent for on-demand scanning. Keep them updated, and run scans regularly.

I would suggest installing WinPatrol on your computer. It is a small program. Does not interfere with other security software. It will give you alerts if changes are made in important areas like startup etc. Maybe it monitors hosts file too, but I am not sure. Its a very useful software to have.

Are you happy with Avira Antivir? I have read the latest version 10 has not been received very well. You can install MSE or Avast in place of Avira, if you want. If you are happy with Avira, keep it.
