Default win7/mp3 files problems

Hi love this site.
I am begging anyone to help me..........
situation is this, Every since I Installed win/7 months ago, my mp3 files are screwed up. I cant find them, zune can't find them, etc. If I finally do find them every song has its own folder...open folder No Files, I have a feeling this has something to do with the new libraies feature in win 7 or something I need to batch edit tags.

any help would be gr8 this is my first time have ever posted on a board so if it looks weak sorry.

Whew! You upgraded from Vista to W7?
If i got your question right (you are searching mp3 files in W7)..download and run "everything": http://www.voidtools.com/ and then type "*.mp3" without quotes, it will pull up all the mp3 files then cut/paste all the files the way you want to organize them.

Hi netgirl2, welcome to the forum . Don't worry, your post is fine.

We would need some more information though, to help you with the problem. The mp3 files that you are talking about, were associated with Zune, or its library? I don't use Windows 7, and I haven't used Zune, and I don't know much about it... but I have seen iPod, and I am guessing Zune is something like that.

My brother has an iPod, and he had warned me against using the sync feature, as he told it will wipe out the mp3 files either on iPod, or on the computer. So, maybe something like that happened with Zune? Did you do anything like that?

I am sorry, I do not have much idea about Zune or Windows 7, but elaborating more on the problem will help others understand your problem better.

Have a quick read through of this tutorial paying particular attention to step 18.

I'm guessing that some or all of your personal files may have been moved to the C:\Windows.old backup folder?
