will help me resolve a shutdown conflict between two program services. When I shutdown I get an error message saying "the memory at 0012e619 referenced memory at 0x00000000....." I have narrowed it down to two specific services that seem to be conflicting with each other. When I stop one service or the other prior to shutdown I do not get the error.

No freeware program is available for such errors.
The information you provide is not enough for us to solve your problem. Please provide more information. What is your OS... XP, Vista? What are the two services that are in conflict as you say? Please provide their names.

Did you try reinstalling both programs?
Are both programs required to keep running all the time? Is Maxtor software required to be running all the time? If not, then you either set the service to manual, or disable it altogether.
