Default Outlook Express

Gidday one and all. Getting desperate here and really annoyed with myself. I saved a backup of an outlook express folder I thought I didn't need (just one of the many folders I have) to an external drive, then removed it from "identities") and now want to put it back to the original C folder BUT complete with the messages marked as flagged and unread intact ... that is, as they were

I have spent two days trying to work it out and can't find a commonsense simple manner in which to do it, and of course, don't want to muck up anything else.

Can someone please come to my aid?

Many thanks

Mike

did you just backup that folder,
which is tricky to restore,
or did you use the file - export function ?.
which is easier to import back again.

I think the "Outlooks" are not easy to handle and that is why there are "special" tools for them. The problems tend to be that they split the information between the files and the registry and you need both to access them correctly.

Thank you as well

I found out how to do it. Restored it from a program called express assist that I've had for years. I backed up to that as well

Then restored the folder to a vacant one in OE and job done !!!

Appreciate it guys
