Default Teacher needs advice

I work as a teacher reading and marking lots of essays from my pupils in ms word. To be more effectiv, but still give adequate feedback, I highlite text in differen colour codes. Now I wonder if there is a way to shortcut the highligting. If I sat with the mouse in one hand highlighting words or paragraps and could just type ctrl-Y, for instance to colour the highlihted tekst yellow, ctr-R for red etc. and even maybe a shortcut to comment, this would make my work much easier. Maybe there is allready short cuts for this? Thank you!

I don't know if there are already, but you can quite easily set up hotkeys to do it.
I use an old program called Memokeys under Win7 and XP but I think I needed a different program under Win 10 - which is on a different machine that I don't have access to right now.

Thanks a lot both of you! You have set me off to further search. Isn't this also possible to get done by macros? If I only knew how to make them...

Use macro recorder. You set it to record your keystrokes to do it manually and then you can play them via hot keys.
