Melita, all those are system folders. Computer and Network appear already on desktop, if you have set to show their icons.

Libraries again is self-explanatory, and is a system folder too.

MELITA folder is your user account folder.

Homegroup is related to networking, and is again system related.

The only way round it that I know of is to use folders.
You need to be aware that increasing the size of the desktop folder in Windows has quite a detrimental effect on the response.
I always try to restrict the use of the desktop to POINTERs (shortcuts) to items stored elsewhere.

Another point about desktop items I would like to make is that, it would be advisable not to put important items on desktop or in the C drive... because in case if you have to reinstall/repair the OS, then these files will be lost. The files will be more safe in other partitions besides the system drive.

And yes, make folders if you want to keep the files on desktop. It's also better from organization point of view.

There is no evidence to show that is true on modern versions of Windows. Some people prefer to kept an extremely clean desktop while others prefer to work from it. Nothing is wrong with either choice. It's just a matter of preference.
