Default Accessing details in Windows XP control panel

In Windows 7 Control Panel page if I type any letter, 'a' for instance, in the little search box at the top right hand corner, all control panel items are shown expanded including all sub menu items. It makes it so easy to access anything. Is there any way I can do this in Windows XP. As you know it has no search box like in Win 7.

Thank you

I still use XP, but have installed Start Menu X: this gives a W7 style Start Menu.

A review and further details here: http://dottech.org/97926/windows-review-start-menu-x/

Thank you for this one but I don't think this will help me. See attachment please. It was the normal control panel 'category' view with 8 items. Look at the search box where I just punched the letter 'a' and every item is expanded to the maximum instantly. All items are displayed this way. You can see only the very top of the page.

Now, XP does not have that little search box to do this trick!

In Category View I have 10 icons visible; however, if I switch to Classic View I can see 27 icons and I don't have to type!

Yes I have the 'classic' view too in XP, similar to 'icon' view of Win 7. It is just that every item is expanded on one page in Win 7, where I can go down that single page, looking at every sub menu item, in list view, without having to click anywhere until I find what I want.

This is something I discovered quite by accident. Very useful to me because I am not always sure of where to find something and have to struggle along and end up clicking blindly on a dozen items before I find what I want!

Thank you for helping.

Regards,
