Silly me ... It looks like it did but just takes a short while to do so.

I downloaded Malwarebytes and did a scan. It found and quarantined a long list of things. I'm now doing a Superantispyware scan to see if it finds anything.

You can install these extensions for Google Chrome.

AdBlock: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/d...biglidom?hl=en

Above extension will block advertisements on websites, which are distracting, and also misleading.

WOT: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/d...egjjndpbikblnp

This is an extension which tells you about sites whether they are good, bad or dangerous depending on their ratings, which are based on community voting. Pretty useful, and indicates about malicious sites.

This is a freeware forum, and we only discuss about free software only. So, we are not at liberty to advise you regarding commercial software. Most of us on this forum/site use free software, or free versions of the software, and often found them to be enough, and sometimes even better than commercial versions.

If you want to buy software, it's your personal choice based on your personal experience, but here we cannot recommend any commercial software. Sorry.

If you suspect your computer is heavily infected (which might be considering the long list of results, although not sure).. then you can post on this forum, where security experts will guide you.

Thanks Anupam for those site. I'll check them out. As I mentioned the Malwarebytes found a long list of problems but didn't say exactly how many but it quarantined them. Immediately after I did a Superantispyware scan and it found another 250.
