Question SD phone recognization

I dont know what to do,

I accidently deleted a 1 gig folder of recordings because it was slow on loading it up and it was gone, I have tried several programs for this one time thing.

The thing is.. the phone shows up in windows explorer just fine, and I can transfer files etc, yet most of the applications I attempt to find the phone wont show because it doesnt assign a drive number to the internal and sd card, just shows it with the "phone name" and extended explorer after that and thats it..

How can I get the computer to either assign a drive letter to it, or have the programs, the free ones.. see the phone registered for being a searchable detectable drive/item.

Thank you for taking your time to read this.

It would help if you would tell the model of the phone, along with the operating system.

Also, it's not clear what you are trying to do here. Do you want to recover the recordings that you deleted from the phone?

Or, do you want to transfer files from the phone to PC? You said you attempted to find applications on phone... you really mean applications, or some other files? Please specify.

As Anupam said, phone model, OS, etc. would help. Also, are you rooted?
I'm also not exactly sure I understand exactly what is happening. Where is the 1 gig folder you accidentally deleted? As in: what part of the internal storage? My apologies if you already know this, but there are quite a few partitions on an Android system. There's the system partition, although I'm going to assume it's not there, because you (should) only ever touch that if you're messing with your device in terms of custom ROMs, customizations, etc. Then, there are usually the two other major partitions: the so-called "internal storage", and the "external storage". The "internal storage" is where most of your apps are installed, and you usually don't have proper file system access to that, unless you're rooted. Then there's the so-called "external storage", or "sd card storage" (in contrast to external SD card storage) or "USB storage". The names are confusing, but this is not storage you can (normally) remove from the device, but storage that can be connected to the computer with the USB mass storage mode. Then there are some other phones with only "internal storage", where you need to access it via the MTP protocol. If you can specify exactly where the files were, that would go a long way in helping.
Another thing: as always when you're trying to recover data, make sure the device does as little read/write operations to that partition as possible. Don't update or install any apps, don't download anything onto your phone, and don't copy anything from your computer onto your phone. If the data is critically important, don't use the phone at all, if possible, and just shut it down.

Thanks for the responses,

I currently using Win XP, with a lg-705g model,

And ya, the phone is rooted..

The 1 gig folder deleted is on the sdcard, not the internal storage.

Just wish that there was an app that would auto detect deletes
and restore what deleted from the card.

Like a recycle bin for android, yet in this case, deleted it from the pc.

Oh, OK, now I understand. As you've realized, there isn't a recycle bin on Android.
A different question: do you have any way of reading a (I'm assuming) microSD card on your computer? Then, you could just plug it into your computer, and any file recovery software should work there. You can check out the ones at http://www.techsupportalert.com/best...te-utility.htm.
For the future, ES File Explorer does offer a Recycle bin function. That does mean, though, that you have to use ES File Explorer whenever you're deleting files, otherwise they'll be "permanently" deleted.

Yah.. I tried that and 5 different programs and one actually detected the phone, scanned and I saw the audio files, yet it cost that much... for a onetime 1 gig recover.

What I mean is not plugging your phone into your computer, but taking the sd card out of the phone, and sticking that into your computer. Then, there shouldn't be any problems, and just about every file recovery software should be able to recognize it.

WAIT!!! I said if that was an option. If you need to buy it first, I would try a couple of other things first.
The most important thing is: in what mode does your phone connect to your computer?
