Welcome to the forum .

Ask Toolbar cannot have come with Mozilla Firefox, unless you downloaded Firefox from some untrusted download site. Mozilla Firefox is a clean software without any bundled extras. Ask Toolbar must have come from somewhere else.

Anyways, there are a few ways by which you can get rid of it from your system. First would be to look for its entry in the Add/Remove Programs from Control Panel. Find its entry if it's there, and uninstall it.

Another way would be to click on Firefox button, and click on Add-ons. There you will see the toolbar and other extras if any in the list. Click on "Remove" to remove the toolbar.

If the above two methods fail, then there are two tools which you can use. One is AdwCleaner, available from here:

http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/adwcleaner/

Another is Avast Browser Cleanup, available here:

http://www.avast.com/store

Both are free.

As a caution for future, generally these toolbars come bundled with software. So, when you install a software, click slowly and pay attention to the screens. Generally, there are options to avoid these bundled extras if you are paying attention. These can be tricky sometimes, but if you pay attention, you can avoid them.

Also, it's better to download software from either their home sites, or from reputed download sites like Softpedia, MajorGeeks, etc. Softpedia inform about additional toolbars etc, so that would be a preferable place.

Anupam, I got so excited seeing an answer with your nice welcome and smiley face, that I did not see that you are from India!!! I have no idea what your weather is like there nor what time it is now.
At any rate, enjoy your day/evening and thank you again. lgcav

No worries .

It's summer here in India nowadays, and quite hot.. will increase more in coming days. Anyways, it was night here when I replied, and fortunately, it's good here in night.

I hope you are able to get rid of that toolbar.
