Question about AV message
I am just curious about this , I have been having zero malware issues and the computer has been running great but yesterday I clicked on the little flag at the bottom right of screen (I believe this is action center) and it said (turn on your anti spyware and Anti Virus ).
I have no idea why this would just occur because my anti virus and anti spyware was on . Being paranoid I instantly think malware. All scans come up empty Any ideas Thanks |
Hi Herby, if Action center is recognizing your antivirus now, I ll say, don't do nothing.
I remember, a few years ago, after I uninstalled an antivirus, Action center kept saying that the AV was still installed in the computer. After searching about the issue, I found out that all I had to do to fix Action centers erroneous reporting was to stop the service that handles that function, after rebooting the PC, I think all I had to do was reenable the service and the issue got fixed. I also had to delete a file related to WINMGM. Probably, you are experiencing the same situation that I did. My memory is a little vague but fixing the problem was easy once I knew what to do and I think all went as I wrote above. But memory is vague. Try this Hotfix if you are in W7 and if the problem still persists. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2482947 Bo |

Not all AV packages are recognised by MS !

This can happen if your resident AV doesn't load right at startup or after an update. Sometimes indicated by a missing tray icon too, but not always. Often a reboot will settle everything back to how it should be.
