Setting the default Open and Save dialog views in Windows 7 64-bit
Hi everyone,
I am looking for a way to change default Open and Save dialog view in Win 7 64-bit from tiles to list (or details).
I have found a registry tweak, but it works on 32-bit version only.
HTML Code:
Anybody able to help me with this issue?

P.S. Changing the default view for explorer does not help, because these setting are not related.

I'm not sure why it doesn't work for you but I have had no problems setting the default view in Windows Explorer. I have 64-bit Windows 7 set to show details by default and it works for the Open and Save dialogs in Firefox and Microsoft Office. It works the same in 64-bit Windows 8.

Possible reasons why it doesn't work:
  • not applying it to all folders (of that type) in Folder Options dialog | View tab | Folders View | Apply to Folders button
  • only applying it to only one type of folder when opening from or saving to a different folder type

Hi, thanks for your suggestion, but it did not work
I did exactly as you suggested, but in open/save dialog box, there are still icons as default view.
Any other solution?
