My System repair disc is on a DVD+R formatted to LFS. In Windows Explorer the repairs disc (properties tab is in UDF),
I can place win 7 install disk in DVD, and it reads only now. Can Someone point me to procedure for repair installation?

I have 2 C:\drives (had 3, the third created by ISP supplied Antivirus suite.
I've been able to disable it - so I no longer have 3 C:\ drives.

Another thing is the pay money repair program used by previous owner, it created some very creative repairs. Leaving me with lines like -- C:\win\...\system32\DRIVERS (all caps), along side -- C:\win\...\system32\drivers.

Also I have 2 folders with very similar features 1. DRIVERSSTORE (all caps), and another , that is just drivers....

I've read posts that are saying to place the Optiarc file (exe) and double click to install?

How to do a repair install? And I'm beginning to think it maybe a good idea...

Thanks!

??? Unclear. How did you know there were three C: drives? Normally Windows only ever allows one C: drive.

Perhaps you mean that there were three bootable drive partitions.

I presume that they the c:\win\ folder is a backup of the c:\windows\ folder. It is common for recovery options to save the current state before attempting to restore or repair the system.

A folder name by itself is not precise enough as the same folder name can be used in different locations. But I assume that you mean a Windows subfolder like C:\Windows\DriverStore. If so then Driver store is a feature of windows. It contains installation packages for your drivers.

Optiarc is a Sony brand for DVD and BluRay optical drives.

Without any context it is hard to be definitive. They probably mean to install a firmware update for the Optiarc drive. Otherwise they could mean to install the Optiarc drivers.

Default History

Hello all, we were given this computer Christmas 2012, with instructions to call the giver before doing anything. Well, my wife could not resist playing with it.

Started by downloading, installing, and playing game, and browsing the net. I didn't want to call the giver on Christmas Day as they have 2 young Girls. It was fine even after I cleaned (deleted) files, pertaining to their home, and Network data missed before given to Nephew.

I definitely have 2 active accounts, because I did not make a new Admin. account properly - I followed screen prompts, without actually looking for a procedure.

This past weekend I discovered that amongst many other programs, java had auto-updated multiple times, In explorer, I have 2 C:\ drives.

The account I made, I failed to copy over files.

I want to do this right. I Will attempt to use the snipping tool, for visual confirmation. Primarily device manager, and windows explorer. - Thanks for the patience!
