CD autoplay not working

before auto player stop working, I could put a cd in the drive and auto player would come up and play the cd.
now nothing happens. I don't thank that media player is working right.
When I put a cd in the drive there is no auto play and the cd does not play.

What are your system details?
Is the optical drive showing in your system window?
Can you access and run the contents of a CD/DVD manually from that?
Have you changed your antivirus program recently?
Have you recently used a so called registry cleaner or tweak tool?
