If all you want to do is to convert documents to PDF, you could use doPDF, it's an amazing product, lightweight and just 4MB download. It also has support for around 400 different document formats.

If you still need help with 7PDF, download RegMagik from here, and run a scan for PDF Maker or or 7-PDF Maker, and post back the results in this thread.

I will second DoPdf. It's an excellent program.
As for 7-PDF Maker, if you want, you can send an email to their support staff about this issue, maybe they can help you better. In case you decide to play around with registry, we will suggest that you take proper backup of the registry, and your system. Be utmost careful when playing around with the registry. Our advice to novice users is to keep away from any registry changes, unless under guided supervision of an expert.

IT WORKED!!!
Using Reg Magik, I ran the scan , and only 1 file cropped up - Name- 7-PDF Maker.exe - Location- LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\7PDF\Maker - DAta- Same address as the error message. I deleted the entry, reinstalled the program, and VOILA it went thru. I want to THANK all four of you, because in addition to this problem, I learned a lot (to me) about my computer, and where stuff goes. Again, THANKS |

Glad you sorted out the problem. Make sure you backup your registry and create a system restore point before you mess around with the registry. You may also take a look at doPDF sometime as I think it's a great program.

There're several ways to create pdf files. One of them is to use software pdf printers or writers, such as doPDF and others, to intercept the print command and create a pdf image. These pdf files have limited features and cannot have much inherent intelligence about the content. They usually cannot contain clickable hyperlinks or bookmarks.
To do away with these limited features, a better approach is to use 'save as pdf' or 'pdf export' that comes together with office applications such as LibreOffice or OpenOffice, or 7-PDF Maker mentioned in this thread. The pdf quality is better and the file size is often smaller when I use this method. See also: Convert Various Formats to PDF PDF Creation Best Free PDF Writer |
