Default FreeFileSync Global Settings choice

One of the Global Setting in FreeFileSync 4.6 is " Copy NTFS Permissions". Can someone advise me if and why it'is a good idea to place a tick in that option or if and why it's preferable to leave it un-ticked.

I don't know what NTFS permssions are so please be gentle.

Thanks.

Default

NTFS permissions are different permissions given to files and folders, like read, write, execute etc..

You can see more here :

If you feel you need these permissions copied over, then you can select the option.
