You can build a recovery media on the thumb drive, and uninstall the program. Then boot from it, and you can perform most of the tasks without problems.

JL
How do I build recovery media on the thumb drive?
Do I install the program on the thumb drive first.
Is there a better or easy program that I can run a thumb drive?
Sorry for all the novice questions.
Thanks Earl

You have to install the program on your system first. Then build a recovery flash media. Afterwards you can uninstall it without affecting the rescue media.

An alternative would be CloneZilla. I don't think it's better or easier though.
