Question WinRAR temp file removal

I installed WinRAR and found out it was a evaluation copy. It is good for forty days only. I un installed it and it leaves a temp file which I cannot delete. It says it is read only and it is in use by another program.

I would like to take this program of cleanly and completely. I might install it sometime in the future but not right now. It handles some file types which could be a useful thing from time to time, but for the most part I do not need it.

Does anyone know how to get rid of this program entirely. Thanx - dz

Red face Ever so delicately put

There are people who installed the program way back in August 2008, and it is still working. Like in the olden DOS days, when you only had to click away a nag screen once in a while

As Christoph has indicated, you can keep using WinRar after the expiration of the trial, but you will get a nag screen.

There are alternatives that are free, without the nag screen, that will do what WinRar does and more.

Thumbs up

Unlocker worked - thanks guys

Also I read the page suggested above and supposedly there are some things which work even better that Unlocker - and on more stubborn files.

Again - thanks for all that - dz
