Default sandboxie started downloading something during latest update

I just tried to update sandboxie from version 4.10 to 4.12. It downloaded and started installing but then without warning or asking permission it started to download another file it looked something like "vcredist" but I'm not 100% sure. I canceled it and it messed up the whole installation and sandboxie would not run at all. I uninstalled sandboxie and reinstalled the old version and that is running ok.

I would like to know what this file might be before I try to update again any help would be great.

I have windows 7 64bit.

Nothing to worry. What Sandboxie was downloading was MS Visual C++ redistributable libraries, which are required for Sandboxie to work. This is because of the recent change in Sandboxie, which requires these files. This is mentioned in the changelog for the latest version too:

Also see the previous version changelog:

Some users who already had the package installed in their computers had problems when attempting upgrading to 4.12 using the combined installer. If you have .40219 already installed in your PC, use the standalone. For the future, this is how upgrading Sandboxie its gonna work.

1) The 32/64 combined SandboxieInstall.exe will check to see if the 2 VC redist. DLLs we require are installed and up-to-date. If they are, we're good to go. If not, the installer will download the full VC Redist. and install it.
2) Since the 2 separate 32 & 64 Sbie installers are not limited by size, they will be self-contained with the 2 VC redist. DLLs we require. The installer will copy the 2 DLLs to windows\system32, if they are not already there. If you want the benefit of Windows Update (above), you will need to manually install VC Redist. yourself.

Which version of Visual C++ is required for install?

2010 SP1 or 2010 (both x64)?
