What browser are you using? Have you tried a different browser?

The reason I ask is that for several weeks, I could not get java to work on Firefox. However, it worked fine on Chrome. Now, all of a sudden, with a Firefox update, it works again.

Keep in mind that in all browsers, it should pop up with a question something to the affect of "Are you sure you want to run java or "this application" or something similar.

are you letting the java through firewall? I noticed this newest version seems to require it. I haven't updated in a while so I don't know when it started needing it

edit: I mean the java.exe and jp2launcher.exe. not sure if both are required but I let both through to make it easy and it worked. But I use portable java with portable firefox/chrome :S
