Default Indians have more phones than toilets?

In English, the term "making a call" was often used as a reference for going to the toilet. According to this BBC article though, it appears more Indians are able to undertake the literal meaning than the implied one

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-asia-india-17362837

Also from the statistics published:

"And the reach of computers with internet access is still miniscule, with only 3.1% of the population connected".

This must be just Anupam, plus his friends and family.

"Sighs deeply"......

Probably true since people do care a lot about stuff like phones, ipads et al. rather than stuff like drinking water, sanitation etc....

<Rant begins>
In my city, I've seen a lot of the Korean mobiles which are cheaper than anything in the market. These "Korean mobiles" prove to be a complete nuisance since people listen to music without headsets causing a lot of disturbance since they listen to songs during traveling in buses etc...I even had to tell someone to turn down the volume, but the guy could not do so (read below).

Rather unfortunately, the volume controls cannot be fine tuned at all...

<Rant ends>

Maybe not, but the users can - not that I would advocate violence of any kind you understand

Hmmm... what can I say. It's not easy handling a nation with such huge population. And with corruption, things get even worse.

But, I do not like that only such news from India are told.. when there are good things in India too. A lot of people who have never visited India, have a different kind of image of India in their mind. Yes, there are problems, but, there are many good things too.

Currently, Indian economy is one of the strongest in the world, when other so called developed countries are struggling.

Anyways, mobiles phones are popular because of their usefulness, and because people can do business with it too. Also, with cheaper mobiles, everyone can afford them.. and India has one of the cheapest call rates in the world too.

It was also in the news recently, that in a few years, the number of mobiles on the planet will exceed that of the human population

Ah, the "rankings" .... nice!

Wow... India is at 2nd ..

In some countries, already the number of mobiles has gone past the human population .

I think this is because some members of the population such as politicians, bankers, criminals and Chelsea supporters are not counted in the figures as being human
