Default Animation movies

I think this genre deserves a separate thread. And anyways, not many people watch animation movies. But I do, and I like them a lot. There are a lot of wonderful animation movies, which just amaze you, and take you to a different world altogether.

A mention of Spirited Away on the other thread inspired me to start this thread.

Here are some of my favorites.

Spirited Away - Really awesome movie. Beautiful colors, beautiful animation, and great story.

Hayao Miyazaki is just awesome, the director and writer of the above movie. His other animation movies are also highly rated. So far, I have watched of his ...

Princess Mononoke
: Didn't like it much, but its still famous.

Howl's Moving Castle : Another wonderful story with great animation.

I am in the middle of another of his classic : Castle in the Sky, and it looks great.

Up - Beautiful movie with wonderful colors and animation.

Wall-E : Cute movie.

How To Train Your Dragon
: Another amazing movie.

The Toy Story series is just awesome.

The Ice Age series are also entertaining and worth a watch.

Finding Nemo is very good too.

Rio is great too.

Cars is also one awesome movie.

Cars 2 is also entertaining.

Kung Fu Panda is highly entertaining.

Though Kung Fu Panda 2 is not that good, but still worth a watch, if you like the first one.

Despicable Me is really cute movie.

Megamind is also good.

Recently watched Rango and its pretty good.

Man, the list is long. There really are amazing animation movies. More later.

Yes, Kiki's Delivery Service must be nice too. I plan to see it soon. I completed Castle In the Sky... its really good. Its a movie of the 80s, but doesn't really feel like it.

I have included Toy Story in my post. Just did not provide a link to it .

I used to watch every animation movie or short I could back in the days when there was hardly anything available where I live except Disney, and more latterly Don Bluth (The Secret of NIMH, An American Tail, The Land Before Time) and the Graphics Group (orginator of Pixar).

In my opinion, animation has been reinvigorated by a good does of Japanese anime and some new takes on serious themese from Dreamworks and Pixar At the top end of this category, the themes and storylines got very banal and overly sentimental for a while.

It is one of the 'worst' movies I have ever seen ... there's no happy ending, it makes me cry, and I can't stop thinking about it. [Where's a crying smily when I need it?]

No other movie has given me so clear a picture of the hardship in Japan. I know the nation brought it upon itself with aggressive expansionism leading to massive warfare. Thank God the Allies didn't make the mistake of seeking retribution or 'Grave of the Fireflies' would have been more harrowing.
