deya, you want Soul music, here is one with the Queen of soul. This song is called "The Weight" and its such a favorite of mine that this is the third version of this song that I have posted along this thread. The previous versions were the original recording as it was played on the film Easy Rider and when it was was played by The Band during The Last Waltz.

What makes this version special is Duane Allman. Please listen to Duane playing slide guitar. The song was written by The Band but other artists, like Ms Franklin also recorded it.

and talking about Duane, how about this one. This is called "Please be with me", written by Scott Boyer of a little know band called Cowboy. Duane was friend with this guys and he was there when they recorded it by sheer luck. Its a beautiful song. Erick Claptons fans might recognize it as Clapton did also a recording of it.

Listen to the slide, Duanes trademark. If someone likes this song, search for Little Martha, I posted it earlier. That is a song that I can hear over and over. There is only one bad thing about Little Martha, it only last a couple of minutes and its one of those songs that should last 30 minutes. It was written by DA.

Ahhh, forget about the search, here is Little Martha, again.

Some great links there. Never heard of 3 Doors Down before, good song, I'm thinking they sound a bit like Nickelback, maybe?

garth, I didn't know there still was an annual scooter rally so I've learned something there. My memory of it was way back in the day, not the rally but just going there on a mates Lambretta with lots of others - runs? We used to do it a lot. I know the place very well, haven't been in a while, but didn't know the castle was used as a venue either so that's two things I've learned.

Today I've been listening to my old favourite podcast, Texas Blues Café. Really well put together shows, lots of good bands, great music. The podcast stopped being made back in November of last year, don't know why, new ones just stopped appearing and the guy who made them just kind of disappeared. But the ones that are on the site are still available to listen to and download [free] although not a lot of the older ones. They play through your browser. My favourite is Session #168, the 7th one down on the page, but they're all very good and each one is about an hour long. Here's the page link at PodOmatic;

Texas Blues Café

A bit of a taster, one of the bands who feature on Session #168 are Dr Wu with the song, Nothing Like Texas Blues - it's here;

I love podcasts, some are much better than radio shows and you always discover something you've not heard before. Texas Blues Café is/was one of the better ones around.
