This always does the trick on a miserable stormy day...

Duane and Boz Scaggs, classic:

Boz, pretty great by himself:

Derek and Susan, saw this one live in 2010:

Pretty good, Windy. Duanes work with Boz made him get noticed. At the time they recorded the song you posted, Duane was doing session work with many well known musicians and people in music were beginning to say "Whose that guy?" "Is that the same guy who played slide at the end of ...?"

I posted this song at least twice, maybe three times before but I am listening to this now and I ll post it for you. I know you are a Duane Allman fan and probably have read a lot of the stories about Eric and Duane. But read the story written below the video. Is a true story and there is a hell of a lot more about it.

Bo,

How are you? Busy summer, I suspect, for all of us...

There was a Tom Dowd documentary done right before he died in 2002/2003, I believe, and parts of that You Tube video you posted were included.

I think Tom Dowd was one of the best producers around, he just never got the supreme recognition because he wasn't in Nashville or L.A., Memphis, Muscle Shoals or Motown.

He knew his stuff...

BTW, the Tom Down documentary is:

The way Dowd and Clapton expressed themselves about Skydog is really nice. And Dowd talking about recording Layla....classic. Lets put that part back.

Windy, before that trip to Miami, in a conversation between Dowd and Duane, when Skydog was told that Clapton was going to be in Florida at the same time than ABB, Duane said something like "You mean the guy from Cream". I think Dowd was attempting to bring them together. I also believe this two guys were bound to make music history as part of the same group sometime in the future. Unfortunately the accident took place and that didn't happen. By the way, Layla was recorded about a day or two after the Jam that I posted a couple of days ago.

I think Clapton is one of the great ones. This song reminds me of Sea island during Spring 77 or 78.

I was lucky enough to achieve a childhood dream the other week when i went to Manchester (England) to see the Dead Kennedys live. Despite Jello Biafra no longer being in the band and somebody i never heard of replacing him as singer, it was sweet and i loved every second of it. Job done

Dead Kennedys - Holiday in Cambodia.
