Meatloaf!! Wow, that brings back a memeory or two. And while I was watching the video I noticed the one for Paradise By The Dashboard Light, it's a live performance from the Old Grey Whistle Test.

I remember, vividly, sitting watching that same show on the TV all those years ago. The show was on late, just me and my dad were left in the room - he was reading his newspaper. The song started, and I'm thinking, 'this is great'. It got to the part where Meatloaf and Karla di Vito are doing the duet thing .. all the body groping and stuff going on, when I looked across the room and saw that my dad was now watching it. I suddenly felt a little awkward.

He stared at it for a while then said, 'Well -- if this is what music's coming to, I don't bloody want hear it'. He folded his newspaper, got up to leave the room and go to bed. As he opened the door he turned and said, 'It's disgusting' .. and with an expression on his face that I'll never forget. He absolutely was totally disgusted - LOL!!

The link's here;

My dad's no longer around, sadly, and so I can watch whatever I want these days without fear of offending him. But I really enjoyed watching Meatloaf again so thanks for posting it, and for bringing back that memory

Meatlof was never one of my favorites but nice story deya. Thanks for sharing it.

As for the boss, Born to run is my all time favorite song by Springsteen. Great song.

Came across this song on Radio Dhak Dhak with Tapin a few weeks ago. It's an Indian song, Kitne Ajeeb it's called, and the woman singing is called Lata Mangeshkar, think the song is from a movie but not sure. And because of the language I have no clue what she's singing or what it's about, although I did read that Lata Mangeshkar is prolific at recording songs for movies, thousands apparently - so I'm guessing it may be a love song.

Anyway, I like listening to eastern music, the instruments and the beat. I played it here for others to listen to, and now they're all playing it - there's no escaping it today. Thing is, it's one of those songs I never tire of listening to. Here it is;

Video's not brilliant, just the words, but it's the best for sound quality I can find. So that's what I'm listening to today - and I love it.

This last tune deserves special mention because it has the greatest bass line of all time.

Norman Watt-Roy is currently touring with ex Dr Feelgood guitarist Wilko Johnson:

Surely the meanest looking and ugliest band around!

This guys call themselves Mana, they are from Guadalajara, Mexico. They been playing together since the middle 80s and have turned into a pretty solid pop band. The first song is a sad love song but sounds great. The second link is for the lyrics.

Mana with Carlos Santana. If you listen to this song more than once, you ll hear Santana's guitar singing.

What makes this song amazing is that it has over 140 tracks in it that's different guitars/vocals/drummers/speaking/bells/chimes whatever they have it! It is the most interesting whole song
