The choice of wallpaper sums up Windows perfectly. Barren, featureless, full of little obstacles to trip you up, uninspiring, nothing better on the horizon and nowhere to escape to :D

Actually its a picture of a Mars landscape taken by the Opportunity rover.
There's nothing but rocks and dirt which is why all the Martians left:D
