If I had that many tabs open then Chrome would be using half my 8GB RAM.

I know that the stats in the article on Windows Web Browser Performance are approaching three years old but they will still be relevant.

I have always disliked Chrome and similar browsers for how much memory they use, when several tabs are opened. Firefox is much better in that respect. This is one of the reasons why I don't use Chrome based browsers, and why I stick with Firefox.

If you have enough memory then Chrome is great: better crash protection and marginally faster performance are both useful benefits. I prefer Chrome for video and Firefox for everything else.

Like Remah, if a video fails in Firefox (or any other browser) i try another (usually Chrome).

Just wondering... if Firefox has the best default "no tracking" security setup (http://www.howtogeek.com/285819/is-m...me-or-firefox/), is it still good to use Ghostery and similar?

Hmm, maybe I'll have to take back my praise of Firefox

It didn't take long for the good news of improved memory usage to be dampened by that bit of sad news for sure!

A lot of things can happen until November, but with Mozilla's unequivocal dictatorial attitude, not sure they'll change their plans.

At this point of the game, i'm just hoping a few more high-ranking extension devs do the same.
If those who make Adblock, Adguard or similar would join such a trend.
Then maybe, just maybe?
