Default Anything good about upcoming Windows 10 ?

Dedoimedo did a really "nice" post about that irremovable notification icon that sits on your Windows taskbar. I'm glad i'm not sitting in front of him, 'cause i'd be feeling pretty bad for liking Microsoft related stuff.

Actually, it doesn't bother me that much.

Point is, there must be something good to say about the upcoming release of Windows 10 ?

I heard that these features will be removed when upgrade from a previous version of Windows?

Windows Media Center
DVD playback
Desktop gadgets
Preinstalled games
Floppy drive support
Windows Live Essentials (Windows Essentials)
Windows Updates
Windows Virtual PC with Windows XP Mode

That's why i'm going to download Win 7 from an ISO on another HDD than upgrade to win 10 RTM and checkout and see if i have any benefits with Win10 Vs Win7, if i don't see anything better then Win 7, just swap HDD with the original Win7 HDD.

You can read about that stuff here, Ivtec;

+1.

it's proving to be an interesting exercise, in proving just what is in it for Microsoft.
- apart from pushing Microsoft Store - what else is there?.

Reading comments to this article, apparently the Microsoft Games will not be as nice as present ones.
http://www.forbes.com/sites/gordonke...s-7-windows-8/

Also, updates will be automatic, no way to say no.
Only Enterprise users will have the ability to defer updates.
Not very good if you have an issue with one update.

You can always tweak in registry. As to liking Windows 10, it's not bad, just not necessary really.

Would you say there are some noticeable speed improvements?
With an SSD, Windows 7 boots in less than 40 seconds.

Is the Edge worth considering?
Firefox and other Chrome based are already doing pretty good at page rendering and extensions have proven to be a huge plus.

There are really no big improvements. Nothing dramatic.

[QUOTE=Dedoimedo; then you will see a big bloody frigging banner telling you about Windows 10. Talk about aggressive ads. If you have, I will have to research what happens come July 29. Sorry, but I don't have a quick answer. [/QUOTE]

it's be interesting to see what M$ has planned for those that don't reserve it,
particularly for those on win_7.

- those that are on win_8x may be auto-upgraded anyway,
whereas those on win_7x may have to click on the GO button. ..

Na, don't worry about Win 7, it'll be around for a while.
It is the best platform they have ever produced.

If they had delays after delays with closing off XP which was already pretty decent,
don't think they'll have an easier time with doing same to Win 7.
