Looking for a good forum for Networking and VPN questions

Are there any good forums that can be recommended for complex questions on Networking, VPN usage and Internet anonymity?

The really "complex questions" often have really technical answers. I suggest that you web search for the topics that you are interested in and see which support sites give the best info that you can understand.

Best Free Technical Support Sites
might be a good place to start because you can see which sites they refer to for more specific info.

I would go as far to say there is no such thing an internet anonymity. If (someone) is performing an illegal action (depending on what it is) , communicating using key words from a flag list or something resembling code, then one agency or another is bound to intercept this at some point. The agencies concerned will also filter and prioritize what they act on so as not to reveal their intercepts and cause the source(s) to change up. Such a situation was handled masterfully by the British during WWII after they broke the German Enigma code, and a lot more has been learned since then.

Can't resist expanding on MC's reference to Enigma.
This man, Alan Turing, was a genius by any measure, and should be a household name in the same way that Bill Gates and Steve Jobs are, since Turing is the father of modern computing as we know it.
Gates and Jobs on the other hand are, respectively, a man who built an OS on the back of all the work done by the US military and others (including Turing), then did some very clever business deals, and a man that added some bells and whistles to a telephone...
Jus sayin:D

Couldn't agree more. I had the pleasure of visiting Bletchley Park on several occasions and it was truly wonderful to stand there and try to imagine what the environment would have been like during the war years.

I am correct in thinking that the name Apple and the logo - an apple with a bite taken out of it - were used because Alan Turing ate an apple laced with cyanide?

I'd heard that too but in the end it can only be speculation. Thankfully the world has (sort of) moved on since his era but it still remains a great shame how he was treated after such service to his country.

Turing's genius deserves all the recognition we can give it and more but the explanation of the name "Apple" may be more mundane:

This has become an interesting diversion from the thread topic. :)

There are quite a few "paranoid" people there, myself included.
