Well I checked the thread and no mention of my model of phone (which is a cheapie phone) none the less there is a ominous warning within the software's GUI that warns of bricking the phone. That's enough for me for now, maybe I'll give it a shot when I decide to upgrade and use my cheapie for experimentation.
