Your input can't be opened:
VLC is unable to open the MRL 'dvd:///dev/dvd'. Check the log for details. (Don't know what log its referring to)

Anyone experience this problem?

Thanks in advance

I think it is strange it reads /dev/dvd. It is usually /dev/sr0 or something like that. Under the Menu Go to System>Administration>Disk Utility. Find your CD/DVD drive. On the right hand of the drive info it should give you your device name. Also down at the bottom under "Volumes" It should tell you disk type, which should be UDF, and also has a few buttons available to mount or unmount the drive. Try unmounting and re mounting it once. Then type the following command in an open terminal window. vlc /dev/sr0 (change sr0 to your device name if necessary) VLC will launch, and if there are errors, they will be reported in the terminal. Copy and paste any error messages back here.
The smallest good deed is better than the greatest intention.
