Someone will correct me if this has changed recently, but if (like me) your ISP issues you with a different IP address every time you connect, then OpenDNS will not save any preferences you may have set unless you update these too manually. I did try a third party auto updater for OpenDNS a while ago, but mostly it either wouldn't load with Windows or failed to work anyway.

As Sope says there are plenty of other alternatives now. I use Comodo Secure DNS and have been very happy with their service.
Buy a Hoover and prove technology sucks.
