If Ubuntu is
installed from within Windows using Wubi, then it can be uninstalled from Windows using add/remove programs or revo. But if it's a standard install outside from Windows, I think it can only be overwritten by another install or by removing a partition.
For a standard install, Ubuntu takes up a disk space of about 2 GB, while Windows takes up a lot more. See
