you're probably not passing the command parameter correctly to wmp or the path specified to wmp is incorrect..normally:
@ProgramfilesDir & "\Windows Media Player\wmplayer.exe"

i.e
"c:\program files\Windows Media Player\wmplayer.exe"

the double quotes is important in paths where folder names include space or use dos short 8.3 path

the final string in the shortcut should be like that:
"C:\Program Files\Windows Media Player\wmplayer.exe" radiochannellink

e.g.:
"C:\Program Files\Windows Media Player\wmplayer.exe" http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio/listen/live/r5l.asx

there should be a space between the wmp path string and the url parameter
the URL parameter is not a local path and should not be contained in double quotes.
