Thanks for the suggestions . I admit I have yet to try Sope's suggestions of Opera given here, and also in other thread. I will try them soon.

I agree making use of the hosts file can also be a good way to manage the ads, and other harmful sites. Gizmo had written an article to block certain google ads through hosts file, and it was very effective. I also had a problem with a malicious site creeping from the network and Avast catching it everytime on every site I went to. I then added that site to hosts file, and it was taken care of. So yes, that can be a good way too.
