You will find the setting to choose Compiz thus:

Control Panel
Appearance & Themes
Window Decorations
Window manager

If you can't see this option it means you have not yet run this:

$ sudo kcmodules --unlock

Doing so unlocks the optional settings.

As a point of interest, I have also installed Q4OS x64 into a fairly ancient Samsung RV415 laptop that runs with an AMD E350 1.6GHz and 1MB RAM, and it's still blazingly fast, and Emerald themes + the rotating cube and other effects all work.
Buy a Hoover and prove technology sucks.
