I don't use ad-blockers because I am happy to have ads display on sites that I use. I try to ensure that sites get some reward for the service they provide me.

I do have one advantage: I usually don't see ads. Ads don't even register unless they are inserted into the workflow or pop-up right in front of me. I guess that came with years of scanning/reading documents and having to focus on the main thread.

I'm a user of webpass.io beta which is developing a new model. It is website server-based and only sends ads if you aren't using webpass. If it becomes commercial then I will pay one subscription and, hopefully, get ad-free access to several websites that I frequent. I heard about webpass through one of those sites who is trialing it.
