I'm not sure ... are you able to sign in to Dropbox normally?

Authorising CarotDAV does require you to sign in to Dropbox the first time, that's normal ... did you actually enter your log in details on the webpage that opened?

What I'd suggest is, get Dropbox working normally again in your browser, i.e. so that you can log in normally. Then while signed in to Dropbox in your browser, try the Carot authorisation process again, This should take you straight to the Dropbox authorisation page without needing to sign in again.

It's a one-time thing, you won't need to do it every time you use Carot.
