How to Restore View Image Info in Firefox
If you’ve noticed the ‘View Image Info’ option vanished from the Firefox context (right click) menu, here are a few ways to get it back.
If you use Firefox, starting with version 88 and up the View Image Info entry in the context menu vanished. The View Image Info option displays basic image information and is handy for rapidly checking image resolution and other details.
There are a few ways to find image information. The about:config menu, the Page Info dialog box, and a Firefox add-on.
Use the about:config menu:
• First, launch Firefox and type about:config into the address bar. Press Enter.
• Next, the Proceed with Caution page appears, select Accept the risk and continue button.
• Then, in the search box, type or paste browser.menu.showViewImageInfo and press Enter.
• The entry will appear – double-click it to change the value from False (hidden) to True (visible).
The change happens immediately and you can close the page. The next time you right click an image the View Image Info entry will be back.
Use the Page Info dialog box:
Open the Page Info dialog box by hitting Ctrl + I on your keyboard and selecting the Media tab. All the media on the page will be listed. If there are a lot of entries you’ll have to scroll to see them all.
Use a Firefox Add-on
If you don’t want to use the about:config method, this add-on adds the entry to the context menu.
You can get it at the Firefox add-ons page:
View Image Info Reborn
Used to use this useful menu item and thought it was gone. A good tip.
I use it a lot, along with the screenshot tool (now moved to the customize toolbar section).
