How To Enable Dark Mode on Google Search

Google’s new Dark Mode is now available for on Google Search results pages.

Google has been rolling out a new feature that allows dark mode on Google Search pages. Called Dark mode on desktop and Dark theme on mobile devices, it provides the option to darken results when using Google Search.

Since it works through Google’s search settings, you don’t have to install an extension or use Google Chrome. Not all browsers currently support the feature, but it’s working in Microsoft Edge, Brave, and Firefox right now for me.

To change to Dark mode, you can go directly to the settings at this link, or change them manually at Google Search.

To change to Dark mode manually, click on Settings in the bottom right corner, then chose Search Settings. Under Appearance, enable Dark mode by choosing the check box next to Dark theme and select Save.

Mac users can turn on Dark mode using these directions from Apple.

You can find more details at Google: Browse in Dark mode or Dark theme.
