It's a version of the browser with even more built-in tools for troubleshooting web sites, testing performance, and even deliberately tampering with data before submission in order to test how a site responds.

If you read this column, you'll know that Firefox Quantum, a new faster version of Firefox, is in beta and is being launched next month. The developer edition of Quantum has just been released, again in beta. So if you want a sneak peak at the new version of the best developer-oriented browser out there, check out Firefox Quantum Developer Edition. You'll find the free download at https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/developer/.

The site is rated as reputable by Web of Trust, and the installer is malware-free according to VirusTotal. And in case you were wondering, you won't have to be a techie to use this. It has all the features of the normal Firefox built in too.

Longtime FireFox user that shift to Cyberfox until they threw the towel in...moved over to Vivaldi with some Opera... both browsers are pretty fast..do well with my 50 plus tabs open...
But this new FireFox is really nice and I will be going back FireFox Q when its ready and I would be using the Dev. but my add-ons won't work yet..

Can this beta version of Firefox Quantum be run along side of Firefox 56.0.1? Or does it overwrite my current Firefox? I don't want to lose my current version until I am sure Quantum works for me. Thanks

This item might draw a lot of comments, except that the email newsletter has the wrong link. Instead of pointing here, it points to the Best Software for Mac! :-(

Thanks for the recommendation Rob. Im assuming this techie version is high on resource usage, like standard Firefox
The world needs browsers that are light on resources. I cant wait for the day I can have 10 webpages open, with no lag

Ahem.....rrrrrrrrr.....I must be in some sort of time warp as I have been using Firefox Quantum {57.0b8 (64-bit)} for several weeks now.

[So far it's been a very smooth puppy]
