The pandemic of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) has infected more than one million people and led to more than 80,000 deaths around the world as of this writing.

Besides guidelines and rules imposed in several countries, the World Health Organization (WHO) also published COVID-19 advice for the public on its website, which includes basic protective measures against the new coronavirus, such as washing your hands frequently, maintaining social distancing, and practising respiratory hygiene.

In addition, WHO offers an interactive platform known as OpenWHO to provide online news and courses to improve the response to health emergencies. These are good learning resources for health professionals, decision-makers and the public for the outbreak of COVID-19.

Available online and as an app for Android and iOS mobile devices, OpenWHO features two channels for COVID-19, one in WHO's 6 official languages (Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian and Spanish) and the other in national languages such as Indonesian, Japanese and Portuguese.

Besides the COVID-19 channels, it has four other channels, namely, Outbreak, Preparing for Pandemics, Ready for Response, and Get Social.

The courses in each channel are free and self-paced. You can download them to your device in the video as mp4, as well as presentation slides as PDF.

While staying at home, enjoy the flexibility to view the content at your convenience to cope with health emergencies.
