Our rating:

Pros & Cons:

Capture rectangular area from hot key or program. Capture video of activity within rectangular area. Output to clipboard, file and screencast.com.
No full screen or active window capture. No delayed capture, auto-scroll, auto-save, or editor. No printer output.

Our Review:

Jing only supports rectangular screen captures. However, it can also capture a video of activity within the selection.

It includes an image editor but not a video editor. The output can be sent to the clipboard, screencast.com or saved in a file as PNG or SWP format.

Delayed capture, hotkeys, auto-save, and scrolling windows are not supported. Requires registration with screencast.com.

Used Jing screen capture tool for years. Beginning of 2020 the program mentioned it was retiring because Adobe Flash support was ending. Downloaded the TechSmith Capture program which also uses Screencast to upload and share images/videos. https://www.techsmith.com/jing-tool.html

This is the only free screen capture tool I could find that allows business/commercial use. It comes in Windows and Mac versions so everyone on our team can use it.
