Finds of the Week is a collection of interesting stuff I've stumbled across recently. Enjoy. :-)

Give Your PC a Fall Tune-up
A very useful collection of tips and how to do various tasks. All are pretty common sense but the reason I  like this article is that it mentions cleaning the actual computer itself.
I would advise being cautious using canned air - I'm not sure what's in those cans but the contents can come out very cold. Super cold air + hot computer components = needing new parts. Even if the computer has been shut down overnight there can still be problems with the canned air, in particular with the memory sticks and processor, even if the processor is under a mongo heat sink.

Update:  Section 2 (Update your Hardware and System Drivers) contains two links that appear as one link.
The link is 'third party software". Clicking on "third party" takes you to a page called "Find details of running processes, registry, drivers, startup items, network connections with ESET SysInspector" that's free.
Clicking on "software" takes you to the software listings for the site. Some are free, some are giveaways, and some are paid. Thanks to reader Urbane.Tiger for the heads up regarding the two links. :-)

I love cheat sheets, up to and including keyboard shortcuts. There's some good developer cheat sheets listed at this site as more generic computer sites listed.

I didn't realize this was bothering me until I read this article. A quick adjustment in the Firefox about:config bar will get the HTTP back.

Wonderful collection of National Geographic images from around the world for your viewing pleasure. Clicking on the title of many of the photos will take you to the page at National Geographic. If it's available, you can download the image as desktop wallpaper.
The photos I looked at all had a screen resolution of 1600 x 1200 pixels.
