For those times when layout and presentation is more important than the text, you need a desktop publishing program (DTP) rather than a word processor. For example, when producing business cards, advertising flyers, brochures, letterheads and so on.
All of which are well within the remit of a great Windows DTP suite called Spring Publisher.
Although the program costs money, there's also a free version available. It lacks the ability to print out your creations in ultra-high-resolution mode, and the ability to download and install new templates, but it's still a perfectly usable solution and is a great intro to DTP if you've never tried things like Quark, InDesign, Microsoft Publisher and so on.
You can get Spring Publisher from www.springpublisher.com. It needs Windows XP or above, and is a surprisingly tiny 2 MB download.
