Our Review:

Bulk Crap uninstaller (BCU) is an open source application that doesn't just batch remove all the unnecessary programs on your system, but is the most detailed uninstaller out there. Its user interface and functions are geared more for a power user than a normal one. On first run it presents a dialog box to configure the application for different views.

BCU has a handy feature to highlight installers that are certified in green, whereas unverified ones are shown in blue. Also another quirky feature that it provides is marking uninstallers as protected uninstallers with a NoRemove tag if the publisher doesn't want you to remove individual parts of software packages.

BCU like it's name, has a nifty featue that allows you uninstall programs concurrently whereas other programs do not. Other than that it also supports Batch uninstall, Force uninstall, Manual uninstall, Silent uninstall & Hunter mode uninstall like Revo. Similar to Revo it also provides different levels of leftover files scanning as a safety feature, and like HiBit allows auto cleaning leftover files after uninstall.

This software highlights invalid uninstallers which are corrupted and requires manual uninstall. Along the same lines it also supports manually removing applications whose uninstallers have been removed tagging them as unregistered applications.

It has a very powerful search feature that lets you use boolean as well as regex operators along with numerous target properties you can use to find the program of choice which helps if you have a lot of sofwares installed. The same applies to filtering programs based on whether they are Microsoft published, Unregistered apps, system components, protected items, tweaks or Windows store apps.

Few drawbacks of this applicaion include, very slow startup to generate extremely detailed information on the installed programs, user interface isn't adapted well for novice users and leftover files cleaning is just not as good as HiBit. Also it doesn't support context menu & drag-drop uninstall as well as doesn't include numerous additional tools available in HiBit & Revo listed here.

If you are looking for a program that provides you a database of everything installed on your PC, has powerful features that gives pleasure to the inner geek in you and has a portable version then Bulk Crap is your choice.
