Automatically Remove Formatted Text from Your Clipboard

This simple free tool automatically removes the formatting from text copied to your Windows clipboard.

ClipboardFusion is a useful free little program that sits in your system tray and monitors your Windows clipboard. When it finds text on the clipboard, it removes all the formatting, including white space and HTML tags, leaving you with pure text that can be pasted into any application.

ClipboardFusion can be toggled on and off by clicking the icon in the system tray or by assigning a keyboard shortcut. You can view the clipboard history, show a preview popups, pin items, create macros and triggers, assign keyboard combinations, and more.

ClipboardFusion has some added features that make it more than a program that scrubs the clipboard. Some main features include:

• Ignore Specified Applications
• Show clipboard preview popup for copied images
• Show clipboard preview popup for print screen
•Show clipboard preview popup for copied HTML colour codes
• Show preview of formatted text
• Show preview of unformatted text
• Text match & replace
• Run Triggers on Trigger Command (single copy, double-copy, not on double-copy)
• Add Current Clipboard Contents to Local Pinned Items
• Encrypted Database
• Replace any text with a predefined string

Note that most fields on websites I tested stay blank when I tried to paste the text that was copied in ClipboardFusion into various fields.

ClipboardFusion runs as the Pro version for 30 days, then reverts to the free version.
It runs on Windows 10, 8.1, 8, and 7 SP1 (32-bit and 64-bit), Windows Server 2019, 2016, 2012 R2, 2012, and 2008 R2 (32-bit and 64-bit).
There's a portable version, and ClipboardFusion is malware free according to VirusTotal.

All in all, ClipboardFusion is a small app that’s well worth downloading if you do a lot of copying/pasting.

I've been using for years PureText (
It is mentioned as an option in the StripMail page cited above, and, if all you need is to remove formatting from text in the clipboard with the pression of a hot key, I do recommend it.

PureText is a wonderful program. It's been mentioned on the site a few times.

It's one of those "don't set up a computer without installing this" programs for me.

After reading the features of ClipBoardFusion, I think I'll stay with StripMail.
It's simple, free and works flawlessly. Paste formatted text into StripMail and copy unformatted from it - done. It also removes white space, takes out ">" characters or indents lines by inserting them if that's what you want, it can reformat text into paragraphs without breaks if that's what you need to do. You can do it all with one button to make it easy. I've used it for years and haven't seen anything better.

Another good program. :)
